National Eisteddfod 2005
Steve Blake was the Venue Event Director for the International Festival of Welsh Culture covering a 200 Acre Site with c.250,000 attendance. One of Wales iconic cultural events.
Festival No6 2012-
Festival No6 is a festival like no other in a location like no other; Portmeirion in North Wales. First held in 2012 and attracted 10,000 people Steve Blake worked on this event since its inception until 2015 providing Security & Crowd Management Consultancy to the events Crowd Management Contractor (Corvus Security Ltd). Hugh Edwin Jones has been involved as the Events Manger of Gwynedd Council giving the event support in all areas of development.
Memories of August 1914 (2014)
Steve Blake was employed as an Event Safety Consultant for the complex build and rehearsals of the Giants in Liverpool on behalf of GSM.
The Good Life Experience 2016
Awen UK undertook the Event Safety Consultancy for The Good Life Experience launched in June 2014, a boutique festival the Vision of four friends. Cerys Matthews, Steve Abbott and Charlie and Caroline Gladstone. c. 5000 attendance.
Aspire International Balloon Festival 2004
The Aspire Festival was put together by Steve Blake and Shaun Casey in eight weeks to fill a gap in the calendar on behalf of the Vaynol Estate. Aimed at a local market we expected c.2000 over the weekend, we achieved c.16,000.
Over the years the Awen UK Management team have undertaken numerous management roles on numerous events. Watching the industry evolve from the ground up. From the free festivals and metal tours of the late 70’s and 80’s , the pop and indie of the 90’s, from opera to rock, classical to dub
through the evolution of event and security industry, event safety and crowd management, the birth of the rave and the expansion of sporting events in the 2000’s. From management roles to directorships, from theatre to arts. Here are just a handful from more recent years.;
